French t-shirt design company Zoe Tees was founded in 2004 in Paris by creative director Laure Pariente as a sartorial reaction to the t-shirts she saw around her. She wanted to create flattering basics, with elegant lines and a quality feel to the garments.

The range is now sold globally, and is fast becomming a cult label with online shops including Net-a-Porter, mywardrobe.com and ASOS.

I rather like this ‘Love’ t-shirt. With a huge print, and an unfinished neckline, a lovely drapey feel, and a really comfortable look, it’s sure to be a sell out.

ZoeTees has a feel to it that is a bit like Wildfox Couture but more understated. Hugely popular nonetheless and well worth keeping an eye out for them in the sales. Oh yes, I forgot to mention, there is a little bit of a downside. They don’t come cheap, with the little number opposite retailing for £92. Far too much, in my opinion, for a t-shirt, but the prices do go right down in the sales, so you can snap them up a lot cheaper if you shop around. ASOS have some brilliant bargains, but it’s so easy to get distracted by all the other stuff on there, you start to lose track of time. Anyway, there you have it. ZoeTees….great in sales!

Another of life’s little gene pools little winners is Burberry model Rosie Huntington-Whitely. She even survived the curse of being in a Transformer film by virtue of the fact that her legs are longer than most people’s life span.

Here she is in Miami, looking utterly catwalk ready and not at all freezing like the rest of us in the January winter in England. Wearing a stars and stripes cropped printed jumper by sleb favourite Wildfox Couture. I can’t help but think she must have been mother Teresa or something in her past life to have lucked out so much this time around. Or Ghandi. Anyway, you can buy the sweater from Wildfox, but the rest is down to fate. If you’re really, really good you might just get lucky next time around!

Foxy Angel?

Whatever you do, don’t mess with the Hells Angels. If you, like me, thought that Hells Angels was just a bit of vocabulary used to describe the kind of bikers that make ZZ Top look young, then you’d be  wrong. Very wrong. The name of the biking club “Hells Angels” along with the image of a pair of wings are both fiercely protected by copyright. And right now The Angels are just hellish about Wildfox Couture using their name and image on a t-shirt.

The Angels are suing Amazon.com who are selling the t-shirts which feature the slogan “My boyfriend’s a Hells Angel” with a pair of wings on the back. And they will probably win. Having previously taken action against Disney, Alexander McQueen and Marvel Comics, they really do know what they’re doing. Yikes.

So watch out. If you spot an innocuous t-shirt with a pair of wings on it, be warned, it won’t be there for long.

Foxy Number!

Just revisiting a classic today. I’m sure I’ve pointed out the cult appeal of Wildfox Couture at least a thousand times, but for timeless t-shirts they really do win hands down every time. Big, bold and vintage-y prints; they have great slogans and images and really lovely shape t-shirts. These are the sort of things to wear as ‘pull over your head and go’ gear, the more tousled the better. If you haven’t got one yet, you should be asking yourself why. It’s easy to see why they’re the celebrity favourite.

The Love Potion No 9 is a bit of a nod to Chanel No 5, and is a lovely drapey t-shirt. At £60, you are paying for the label, but these t-shirts are so cool, they’re worth it.

Lovely Bones!

Popstar Jessie J has exploded onto the music scene with her catchy blend of self-penned songs and her Addams Family styling. Full of energy and hooray, not a throw-up from the X Factor, almost a perfect popstar, in my humble opinion.

I love the bright black pageboy cut, which looks amazing with this getup from celeb favourite Wildfox Couture. A lovely sparkly number, in a mixture of cotton and stretchy spandex, with a sequinned ribcage on the front. Bones are hugely fashionable right now.

Wildfox are still one of the most popular brands around with their unique style of vintage t-shirts and retro style motifs and are massive investment pieces…you just have to watch out for the price tag!

Foxy!

I think this t-shirt from Wildfox Couture is quite appropriate, in terms of relevant slogans. Now we’re totally wedding-ed out, we can go back to how we were. Sort of.

Wildfox have taken the slogan t-shirt and made it into a cult phenomenon; instantly recognisable they are a favourite A-lister’s brand. With a slouchy fit, and a vintage feel, they are the sort of garments that will be wheeled out again and again over the years, getting more and more sort and lovely.

Check out the range at ASOS for an instant trendsetting look.

It's Love!

Wildfox Couture is one of the most popular labels with the stars and star-ettes of today. Bright colour t-shirts, simple images and a slouchy fit are the trademarks of this American label which keeps churning out the hit shirts faster than you can say Wild and Foxy.

Having fast achieved iconic status, the Love Potion No 9 tee has been embellished with sequins and sleeves to be a most coveted item for A listers like Taylor Swift and Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosia.

Check out their new spring range and grab their stuff while you can, it sells out in nanoseconds so be quick as you can!

Wild at Heart!

Everyone in LA seems to wear Wildfox Couture t-shirts, they must be the most popular label around. Combining quirky statement with prints that look a bit like those sugarey loveheart sweets I used to love when I was little, they’re practically a trend in themselves. Actually, didn’t they update those sweets for the new generation with things like “Text me!” on them? Anyway, Wildfox is the name to look out for when doing a bit of celeb spotting in the name of research.

Full of bite and attitude, the foxy numbers are favourites of  Katy Perry, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox and just about anybody else who is anybody else.

Think funny slogan, quirky hand drawn pastel print and oversize t-shirt or vest t-shirt and have a go for yourself. Slogan tees are where it’s at right now, so keep up by designing your own little number. I’ve gone back to the sugar hearts for inspiration, which look amazing on t-shirts. I so used to love those sweets!
