Has a ring, don't you think?

Vogue online today is all about the celebs being stylish at Glastonbury. Kate Moss, festival favourite is described thus “Moss worked festival chic as only she knows how – wearing a pair of snakeskin skinny jeans, Hunter willies, a sharp-shouldered leather jacket and slouchy T-shirt“Hunter WILLIES! Really? I SO hope nobody notices the error and they leave it on their front page. I was laughing for ages. Kate is getting married next week just a stones throw from the T-Shirt Studio headquarters. One hopes she’s not wearing her willies on her wedding day!

Allegedly, Kate and Jamie are asking for some his n’ hers mugs as wedding presents. Always a great gift, and lots of fun to personalise with the brides new name.  Check out our new options too, there’s now so many more ways to create something special and lasting.

One of the most popular (and expensive) t-shirt designers around has to be Christopher Kane. He does in fact make more than just t-shirts, but that is probably all anyone can afford from his collections and then only if they forgo food, petrol and other essentials for a 6 week period.

There is good reason however to prioritise his designs above boring old food. Stupendously atmospheric prints cover the whole front of the fabric of his tees, making them more like an artwork than a piece of clothing.

I love this picture in Vogue’s street style of someone wearing a Christopher Kane t-shirt with lots of black. The whole result is sort of stylish uber goth, but a sort of wealthy and stylish, poetry reading arty studenty uber gothy type.  I’m not sure if you really should be able to discern all of that simply by someone’s t-shirt but there we go. Sometimes a fashion statement is more than just a few words, it’s a whole sentence!

One man's religion!

Having seen the lovely Tolula Adeyemi wearing a t-shirt by Religion in the “Today I’m Wearing” section in Vogue, I thought it would be good and proper to check out what else Religion has on offer.

Lots of moody cheekbone-y models wearing a great selection of either skinny leggings or  circulation impairing jeans teamed with an amazing selection of graphic t-shirts, some black and white, and others like the one Tolula was wearing, with a mixture of black and white prints and colours.

I had a rather a loud chortle when I saw this men’s t-shirt on ASOS featuring a beautiful bikini body with the “I heart” at the top and the scantily clad torso stretching down the front of the t-shirt. It looks kind of incongruous on a man, but therein lies the humour, I guess.

Shoreditch House Sunday Pool Party Outfit!

I was having a nice flick through Vogue when I spotted model Tolula Adeyemi wearing a most beautiful t-shirt ensemble. I’m not sure if you can technically have a t-shirt ensemble where there’s just the one t-shirt involved, but there you are, it felt like an ensemble. Tolula calls it her “Shoreditch House Sunday Pool Disco” look. Wow, how totally fabulous is she? What a combination, and how wonderfully occasion specific? I shall henceforth label all my looks thus. A quick glance around the office makes me wonder how much more exciting we might all sound if we gave a happening vibe-y name to what we are wearing. But then a second glance and a sip of cold tea makes me think “Hmm maybe not!”

I myself could be casually described as sporting that “slightly overslept uncoordinated straight to the supermarket after work, probably crash out on the sofa later or watch the next Holmes on IPlayer” look, hardly very aspirational, is it? I don’t think Vogue would be interested. The boss, meanwhile has his “straight to the pub after work” look going on.(I know this because his nephew made him a t-shirt that says “Straight to the Pub after Work?”) Ah, we are not at all enhanced by labelling of our clothes as per fabulous lifestyle. I will leave it to Tolula, who wearing a skull rainbow Religion t-shirt and jeans, sounds as great as she looks.

I must confess I do enjoying flicking through those pictures of real people that appear in fashion magazines like Vogue and Grazia where they go out and snap random people out and about. The fact that they are always selective, in that there are an awfully high proportion of models compared to mortals and no one ever looks less than marvellous is by the by. I found these pictures in this month’s Vogue, and they all show people who are having lots of fun with their t-shirts.

Ripping Yarns!

First off, a t-shirt that has been chopped into a cut off worn under a shirt, and teamed with high waisted shorts. Easy to do and a good way of extending the life of your t-shirt.

Simply Divine!

Next up, the Vogue photographer happened upon the beautiful Jelena, a model, naturally. Her t-shirt has also been customised, but quite well, and unless you are the fashion studenty type, this might be a bit beyond you. Looks fab tho!

Finally….

Hot Coco!

Canadian model Coco Rocha, is showing Vogue what she wears every day for a month. I love this shot of her wearing one of her husband’s old t-shirts which he wears for painting in (I can’t work out whether he’s an artist or a decorator). So this is my final custom tip. Paint splats. Easy peasy and will give you an air of authentic designer artisty-type.

Anyway, they’re all in style bible Vogue which means they must be good. So have fun splodging, chopping and stitching and see what happens to your t-shirts.
