Top Tee!

Going for a bit of a men’s nautical theme today, having found women’s stripes a-plenty. And where better to look than Topman, home to an ever changing selection of t-shirts, in various shapes and sizes. I particularly like the simplicity of this tee, just plain blue and white stripes on 100% cotton fabric with a round neck.

It definitely has that sort of retro, classic feel to it, and it perfect for this weather. Very Marlon Brando or James Dean. Best of all, it’s under 15 quid, which makes it an ideal summer number. With plenty of change left over for a nice pint of something refreshing!

Skully-tastic!

Having featured an amazing ladies t-shirt by the late and incredible Alexander McQueen the other day, I had the boss clamouring for me to find a boy’s top to go with it. One of your best bets for finding vintage t-shirts is always ebay, although you may have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince!

There is a good selection of men’s t-shirts on the Alexander McQueen website however, so that’s the first place you should check out. Bear in mind that your bank balance will take a fair hammering if you go for a new t-shirt, although McQueen’s pieces are practically works of art, so look on it as an investment. And hand wash!

I love this leather appliqué  t-shirt, a lovely variation of the skull theme that McQueen was so famous for. At £285, you may have to forgo eating for, say a month or two, but hey! You’ll be an art collector. A skinny one at that!

Top Man's Tee!

This t-shirt from Topman has got an amazing graphic print, and such a sense of perspective that you feel almost as if you are being drawn into the belly button. It looks as though it comes from an Art Deco poster advertising an art and music festival. I love the muted colours and the retro feel to the tee, whilst the stark lines and the modernist feel of the graphics give it an air of Bauhaus-era artwork. It’s yet anther great looking t-shirt from Topman, who keep churning out great prints and pretty favourable prices.

As long as you don’t tell anyone it came from Topman though. All those billions, and you would’ve though mega mogul and Topman ownerPhillip Green might splash a little out on finding a name that brings back the 80′s and the sound of Bros a little less strongly!

Top of the Tees!

Topman is a great place for finding interesting t-shirts. Not too pricey but with lots of quirks and character, and a great range of styles and prints. I sort of love this military style t-shirt, and I sort of don’t at the same time. Partly because it’s on trend, with the buttons, the colour of the t-shirt is good, and it’s a simple design.

On the other hand, it would only work if your tummy isn’t going to stretch apart those lower buttons and ruin the line of the thing. Also, the buttons are a bit nippley. On a cold day, it might just not look right. Military styling looks great on coats and cardigans, but I’m just not quite there with the t-shirt. Maybe I just need to give it some time. It might help as well, if you were offered a peek at what it looks like on, just to see where those buttons go.

Military is a big trend this autumn winter, so this t-shirt is a definite yes, or no, or maybe!
