Shiny Happy (Dead) People!

I love the idea behind t-shirt design company Threadless. People send in t-shirt designs which are made into t-shirts for you to buy. They’ve just released a book with some of the best t-shirts they have made, together with the idea behind the shirt.

One of the things I love about t-shirts is that it is so easy to create your own artwork and put it onto a tee. So this book of wonderful t-shirts is fantastic and worth checking out on their website.

This is one of my favourite t-shirts ever, designed by Budi Satria Kwan called “Bye Bye Apocalypse”. The image within a skull isn’t all that new, but I love how delightful and sweet the picture in the middle is, all lovely and happy and stepping stoney, aw. Also probably a bit dead, but never mind. Check it out and get drawing, you know you want to!

Jesus, Elvis, the lot!

I really like the t-shirts that come out of Elvis Jesus. Combining graphics and photo montages, together with some fantastic embellishments, they produce some garments that are more works of art than just items of clothing.

This mugshot t-shirt is a case in point. A selection of made up mugshots are scattered over the front, with two big mugshots of Elvis and Jesus on the back, not to mention a perfectly funky label. Quite what they were banged up for, I don’t know, and don’t even want to ask, but as imagery goes, it’s pretty potent and well worth a look.

Actually, no Elvis anywhere to be seen, but....

Of course, £75 might well be above your budget, it certainly is mine, so like the 7 dwarves, it’s off to work we go!

One man's religion!

Having seen the lovely Tolula Adeyemi wearing a t-shirt by Religion in the “Today I’m Wearing” section in Vogue, I thought it would be good and proper to check out what else Religion has on offer.

Lots of moody cheekbone-y models wearing a great selection of either skinny leggings or  circulation impairing jeans teamed with an amazing selection of graphic t-shirts, some black and white, and others like the one Tolula was wearing, with a mixture of black and white prints and colours.

I had a rather a loud chortle when I saw this men’s t-shirt on ASOS featuring a beautiful bikini body with the “I heart” at the top and the scantily clad torso stretching down the front of the t-shirt. It looks kind of incongruous on a man, but therein lies the humour, I guess.
