Archive for ‘Mugs’

An article in the Guardian today told how designer Ali Miller has seen sales of her teapot soar due to what can only be known as ‘The Sherlock Effect’.

The pot, quite a beautiful piece as it goes, was featured at a key moment in the series when the sleuth was pouring a brew for his arch enemy. Miller’s website went into overdrive, and is now frantically trying to keep up with the demand for the range.

Sherlock aside, the cups, saucers mugs and tea pots are really lovely. The famous teapot is depicted with a map of the British Isles, and around the tea cups, various scenes are printed.

These are the must have items of crockery right now, so go snooping!

I love this selection of bone china mugs and bowls with fine line designs of London attractions and places. Really, truly beautiful, and with the Olympics coming up, a fantastic way to celebrate all things great and British-y without resorting to Union Jacks, which quite frankly, we will be sick of come the end. These are by Martha Mitchell Design and are available from Contemporary Lab. Each mug is is little bit different, and all the designs are individually applied by hand. None too pricey either at £12 a pop.

Hopefully, you will have survived Christmas much as I have…with extra padding to get you through the new year. Happily, I am full of presents, brussels sprouts and stuffed to within an inch of my waistline, thus I’m not expecting to achieve much more today, and the Zzzzz’s are looming.

The T-shirt Studio team is having a rare day off and revelling in the Christmas Spirit. Armed with festive t-shirts and personalised gifts, they have been Santa’s little helpers and are now having a well earned Yuletide rest.

A Merry Christmas one and all, and I hope your presents were as good as mine!!!

I love our t-shirt templates. So much fun to play around with and far easier than actually having to come up with any ideas yourself. A good thing at this time of year, when the little grey cells are severely compromised by trying to come up with interesting gifts for under a tenner.

I love this snowflake print. Full of festive cheer and great fun to come up with little slogans or names to go in the middle. It looks as though you spent ages coming up with something creative, stylish and fun. In reality it took two seconds and was as easy as overdoing it with the mince pies. We really are Santa’s little helpers, aren’t we!

Eek! One week to go until Christmas, and shopping has not gone well. Well, I haven’t really done any if I’m honest, apart from a few friends who always get a personalised mug with their tea and coffee preferences printed on them courtesy of T-Shirt Studio. Other than that, it’s a toss up between scented candles and Sibona embroidered laundry bags for girls, mums and aunties and fail-safe whiskey or gin for boys. This year, I’m thinking of getting everyone a supplementary  e-cloth, a wondrous cleaning flannel with millions of tiny microfibres which ensures at least an hour of novelty cleaning ensues. But will anyone thank me for that, I wonder?

Thing is, right now it’s all cold and I don’t really want to move. I’ll definitely get around to it all tomorrow though. Probably. Maybe. Er……

Tea Time!

It’s getting to that stage, where you are either wonderfully organised and all presents are wrapped and under the tree, or you’re having a minor breakdown, with a host of friends and relations who are impossible to buy for, and a wretched hangover because you forgot to pace yourself at the Christmas party. Never mind; help is at hand, or at least at the click of a button. We have a range of wonderful gifts for you to personalise with your own photo or message, from our keyrings to canvases, with a few t-shirts in between. Click, create and crash out!

I was so traumatised by last year’s series of the X Factor, I couldn’t even bring myself to read the reviews of it this year. Also I have this thing about Gary Barlow; not sure what it is, but the words overrated and boring spring to the forefront of my mind and refuse to leave. So this mug from the Daily Mash hit the nail right on the head. Short and to the point, I think it sums up this year’s singing contest. A secret santa must have!

FizzyT, November 28th, 2011

I love this minging mug, available from Play.com, it’s a perfect secret Santa present, really filthy looking, just what you want your tea or coffee in. A nice little office present and at £12.99 not too much of a spend.

Ew!

Or this is another little joke number, available from Amazon for £3.50, definitely not for everyone, but still quite amusing when the unsuspecting soul drinks from the mug and everyone else sees the message.

Oops!

I rather like this mixed messages mug available from Cox & Cox for £15.50. The ransom note style letters go onto the mug, and can be moved around. Sadly you can’t bung it in the dishwasher in between uses, which makes for a weeny bit of a faff, however, the lure of writing new messages onto the mug is pretty strong and could provide a lot of fun in the office.

Suddenly the temperature has plummeted and we are all huddling around  bemoaning the start of winter. Let’s just hope it isn’t as long as last year. It’s time to don a warm and fluffy hoodie, perfect with our new layout with two tone hood and fabric and retro writing across the front. And even though summer is a long distant and fond memory, our sale still lingers, so you can take advantage of retro styling, modern warmth and fantastic prices. Take a look at our amazing layout options and play around with the preview so you can see exactly how your hoodie (or t-shirt, mug, polo shirt, you name it) will look.
