neil gaimanBetween the chaos of Christmas and the excitement of new year (not to mention the joy of endless leftovers), there’s often a bit of time to ponder the old year and look ahead to the new.

I so often find that this time of reflection, accompanied so often by indigestion, involves an attempt to slough off the strains of the past 12 months, and set unreachable goals for 2016.

This quote by the wonderful Neil Gaiman I like, however. Light and attainable, something to hold on to for the upcoming 12 months…have a good one!

elfieWell, I think I’ve found the most annoying Christmas jumper of the year. Maybe ever. So terrible that I’m tempted to buy it for a secret santa next year, just to annoy the crap out of someone. Or everyone.

This culprit currently in the sale at ASOS features the two most hated things taht may ever have been invented; the selfie and the selfie stick. Together with a  cringeworthy elf joke. It’s a trio of hideousness. Truly. Even with the greatest irony in the world, I couldn’t force myself to wear it. Which kinda makes it the most genius Christmas jumper ever!

pink-floyd-dark-side-of-the-moonMy mistake, when I saw the news this morning I thought it says Major Twin Peakes launching into space and all I could imagine was some mammoth mammary mountain reaching high into the stratosphere, Katie Price lying on her back kind of thing. But no, we’re putting a chap in space, well done us. Or rather well done Major Tim Peake, sorry about the whole name faux pas, oughtn’t really have made me snigger in the way it did, but I am quite childish.

Anyway, what with my word associations all going a little awry today, I thought a little lunar number might be make up for it. Bon voyage, Major!

xmas babyWhat to get for a baby’s first Christmas? Cuddly toys and teddies are wonderful, but how about something more personal that can be kept forever. A great gift for someone’s who’s had a baby or even your own baby, is choosing something from our range our personalised baby wear and making it unique. That way you give something that’s both practical and a gift to treasure. A lovely idea which will delight and give endless joy.

T Shirt Studio has teamed up with the Royal Air Force to create some truly stunning designs. The shape, colour and arrangement of everything is a perfect fir for what we wanted to achieve. Any kind of collaboration is incredibly rewarding; translating someone’s designs, making them a beautiful reality is beyond satisfying, and when it’s for the Royal Air Force, well, an extra bit more special. Enjoy! tss-raf-per-ardva-ad-astra

i 6Excited that we’ve got iPhone 6 cases to personalise. Such an awesome Christmas gift, as you can only imagine how many people have iPhones on their wish list. Actually, you can’t. There’s too many of them.

Phones cases are one of our most popular Christmas items, and you can definitely understand why. The amount of new iPhones soaring across the skies to reach us in time all need to be protected from nights out, falling out of pockets and big hairy teenage feet.

Choose something different this year, and give an iPhone a chance!

gangsta santsThe Christmas jumper is yet another trend I’ve failed to embrace. I sort of wish I could carry it off, though the truth is, that it’s just too horribly close to what I wore when I was little, and I can’t really get jiggy with the irony.

I quite like this badass Gangsta Santa from New Look though. Quite a dude, with shades and sackfuls of attitude instead of toys. I could go for this. Almost.

CaptureBeing a bit of an avid Ebay-er, I’ve come across quite a few listings where someone’s selling things given to them by an ex boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife. I’m not sure if it’s Schadenfreude, but they’re usually quite funny, even if it’s in a way that makes you wince a little. You really get the feeling that things didn’t end well; whether the listing’s about financial gain or revenge is quite often the most uncomfortable bit, although the sense of humour usually comes through. Mostly.

So when I found out there’s a whole website dedicated to gifts from ‘The Ex’, I wasn’t sure whether it would be a bit cursed. ‘Never Liked it Anyway‘ is a whole website dedicated to flogging stuff given to you by The B*****d or the B***h. Tongue in cheek-ish, it is a whole cathartic process of exorcising your demons. I’m kinda hooked on the stories that accompany the things that are being sold, though I think maybe that’s wrong. Anyway, for the spurned or the spurnee, this is a must see!
